On 25 September 2026, Nha Trang's central square will host the city's first large-scale Mid-Autumn Festival, Hải trình Ánh trăng — “The Journey of Moonlight”. The concept combines Vietnam's traditional Trung Thu celebration with the marine identity of Khánh Hòa.
The visual highlight will be illuminated figures more than four metres high: a swallow, dolphin, lionfish, sea turtle, whale and seahorse. Organisers also plan to light thousands of traditional lanterns by the sea, creating a “sea of light”. The programme includes creative workshops, folk games, bài chòi, traditional theatre, Chị Hằng and Chú Cuội characters, plus Lân — Sư — Rồng parades and dances.
An additional programme will take place at 16 Tháng 4 Square in Đông Hải, with a lantern-decoration contest, performances and lion and dragon dances. It is a public city event for children, residents and visitors; the official announcement does not state an admission fee.
