From 30 October to 8 November 2026, Gia Lai will become the centre of one of Vietnam's most distinctive cultural events: the International Gong Festival 2026. Around 45 groups are expected, including 22 from Gia Lai, ensembles from other Vietnamese regions and international groups from Asian countries. The festival celebrates the gong cultural space of the Central Highlands, recognised by UNESCO.
On 31 October, Ia Gri village will host performances by ethnic musicians and a reconstruction of a traditional Jrai ceremony connected with the construction of a new nhà rông. A local produce and traditional food market will run from 30 October to 1 November. A street festival takes place in Pleiku on 6 November, followed by the main International Gong Night at 20:00 on 7 November at Đại Đoàn Kết Square.
The main programme is held in Pleiku, Biển Hồ and nearby areas as a public cultural event. Detailed ticket information for individual activities has not yet been published. For travellers, it is a chance to experience Central Highlands culture in a large event created with local communities and artisans.
