From Cam Ranh Airport to Nha Trang and Back
Here is how to get from Cam Ranh Airport to Nha Trang and back by bus, taxi or a pre-booked transfer. We have gathered fares, addresses, pick-up points and the details that matter when travelling with children and luggage.
The cover shows an architectural rendering of Cam Ranh Airport.
Journey time and transport options
Cam Ranh Airport (CXR) is outside Nha Trang. The drive into the city takes approximately 45–60 minutes. Northern neighbourhoods are farther away than the south, and traffic also affects the journey.
| Transport | Cost | Best suited to |
|---|---|---|
| Đất Mới | Regular bus: VND 75,000; minibus: VND 100,000 per person | One or two travellers staying near the route |
| VinBus 16-2 + 23 | VND 65,000 per person for both rides | Travellers with light luggage heading to the centre or north |
| Grab | Indicative fare from Nha Trang to the airport: VND 250,000–350,000 per car; calculated in the app | Families, groups and travellers with luggage |
| Quoc Te taxi at the international terminal | Published indicative fares to Nha Trang: VND 300,000 for the 4-seat category and VND 360,000 for 7 seats | Travellers who want to take a car on arrival |
| Pre-booked transfer | Agreed price for the selected vehicle and route | Night arrivals, children or substantial luggage |
Bus tickets are charged per passenger; a car is priced for the whole group. For example, the two VinBus legs cost VND 130,000 for two people or VND 260,000 for four. You may also need transport from the stop to your accommodation.
Transport information checked on 17 October 2026. Table prices are planning estimates.
Đất Mới: a direct bus to Nha Trang
Đất Mới carries passengers between the airport and the city in buses and minibuses, including nine-seat limousine vehicles. You can get off at a stop near your hotel or the neighbourhood you need. Show the name and address of your accommodation before buying a ticket; staff will tell you where to get off.
You can request a ticket on the operator’s website. Phone numbers: 0966 282 385 for the airport, 0966 282 388 and 0966 282 389 for Nha Trang. Give your flight details, passenger count and luggage. You will need the fare, next departure and exact boarding point at your terminal in the reply. Mention a pushchair or small child in the request too.
Departures are linked to flight schedules. At the airport, the company collects passengers until the last domestic flight of the day, so have another transport option for a late international arrival.
VinBus: one connection to the centre and north
The VinBus journey has two legs. First take 16-2 to Vinpearl Nha Trang, the mainland check-in area for island hotel guests and the cable-car station for Hòn Tre. The ticket costs VND 50,000 per person.
At the terminus, change to 23 towards Ana Marina. It follows Trần Phú and Phạm Văn Đồng through the centre and north. Get off near your neighbourhood; you do not have to travel all the way to the marina. The second ticket costs VND 15,000, making VND 65,000 per person in total. You do not need to cross to the island to change buses.
The starting stop for 16-2 is listed at the domestic terminal. After an international arrival, VinBus can explain the boarding point and how to reach it on 1900 866 663. Find stops near your accommodation and departures for both routes in the VinBus app or route map. This matters especially early in the morning and late in the evening: you need to catch the second bus too. Allow for the connection wait and the walk to your hotel as well as time on the bus.
Small-denomination dong notes are useful for payment. VinBus accepts cash; payment by your card or QR depends on the payment instrument. The published luggage limit for 16-2 is 10 kg and 30 × 40 × 60 cm. Discuss a large suitcase or pushchair with the operator beforehand, along with the child fare. With several bags and small children, a taxi is usually easier than changing buses.
Taxis: book in an app or take one on arrival
You can book through Grab or Green SM, formerly Xanh SM. Green SM also has a general booking number, 1555. Install and set up the apps before flying; after collecting your luggage, you only need to enter the address, choose a vehicle and select payment.
Check the price when booking: it depends on your address, timing and vehicle category. Before boarding, agree on the total including any airport, road and parking charges.
At domestic terminal T1, Grab pick-up is at columns 05–06–07 outside arrivals. Turn right after leaving the building and walk about 100 metres. At the international terminal, follow the meeting point in the app. You can contact the driver there too; check the number plate before getting in.
Without an app, go to the taxi area at international terminal T2, where Quoc Te and GSM are represented. Show the driver your hotel and agree on the cost of the full journey. Offers outside may be more expensive, so you do not have to accept the first quote.
Grab offers cash and cashless payment; Green SM also offers cards and in-app payment. Select a method you can use when booking. For a large group, allow room for suitcases and a pushchair: spare seats alone may not be enough. Arrange a child seat in advance.
Transfers: a car waiting after your flight
You can arrange a transfer through your hotel or find a driver in the Anilau Nha Trang transfer directory. This is convenient for a night arrival: someone is already waiting after baggage collection, and the price was agreed beforehand.
Send your flight number, date, accommodation address, passenger count and luggage. Mention a child seat or room for a pushchair straight away. Agree on the total per vehicle, payment, meeting point, driver’s contact details and waiting arrangements if the flight is delayed.
If you are staying in Bãi Dài, the resort strip near Cam Ranh, book directly to your hotel; there is no need to travel through Nha Trang.
Back to the airport: the bus from Yersin Street
Đất Mới buses leave from the station at 10 Yersin, by the 19 August Stadium. Here is the map location.
Arrange the departure for your date and ticket purchase through the operator’s city numbers: 0966 282 388 or 0966 282 389. The last departure from Nha Trang changes daily. If you are staying far from the station, add the taxi there to your ticket costs, and allow time for that ride and the wait for the bus.
Several times, we unexpectedly managed to get a cheaper taxi deal. We ordered a car to the airport-bus stand, but when the driver learned where we were going next, he offered to drive us to the airport himself and dropped the price considerably. Sometimes he was quite persistent. If you get such an offer, compare the total with bus tickets for your group and agree on the full price before changing the route.
The return VinBus route is 23 to mainland Vinpearl, then 16-2 to the airport. When choosing departures, allow for the connection and the terminal where you will get off. For an early flight, a pre-booked car is easier if there is no suitable bus connection.
When to book your car for departure
Give the precise hotel entrance or apartment block for pick-up, and the correct airport terminal for drop-off. Book ahead through Grab, your hotel or your chosen transport provider.
Work backwards from when you need to be at the airport, adding the journey and a buffer for delays. By bus, you also need time to reach the station and wait for departure.
Check-in deadlines depend on the airline. For example, Vietnam Airlines opens domestic check-in two hours before departure and closes it 40 minutes before; international check-in opens three hours before and closes 50 minutes before. Do not aim to arrive as the counter closes: security still follows, plus passport control for an international flight.
Check your airline’s recommended arrival time and boarding deadline for your flight. Online check-in does not remove the need to drop off a suitcase if you have checked luggage.
