Da Nang: what to do during the week of October 13–19

This week in Da Nang, you can try acting improvisation, learn a team board game or see how many songs and films you recognize before your friends do. Friday brings a wine tasting, and an exhibition of women artists from Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City opens on Saturday. We have gathered five options with prices and booking contacts.

An improvisation workshop

On Wednesday, Tatiana Saleeva will lead a two-hour workshop in acting improvisation. The programme includes improvisation techniques and exercises in creativity and confidence. According to the announcement, no experience is required: you can join even if your last performance was presenting a school report.

Tatiana works with voice, speech and public speaking, and also does readings and voice-over work. Advance payment is required to reserve a place; ask the instructor for the venue.

The team board game TAC at Restaurant 369

On Wednesday evening, Restaurant 369 will host TAC. The aim is to move your marbles around the board and into their “home”. The first team to bring all eight marbles home wins: you need to think about both your own moves and your partner.

The organizers say they will explain the rules in ten minutes. You can come alone and find a partner there. A 50% discount is advertised for first-time players; check the promotion terms when booking.

Quiz, Please! — films and music

On Friday, Hai Linh Coffee will host “Quiz, Please! [Films and Music]”. Everything that is not usually considered useful knowledge can come in handy: a familiar tune, a film title you cannot quite remember, and years of watching TV series.

Gather friends with different tastes: someone who skips new film releases may be the first to recognize a song. Ask the organizer about registration and participation conditions.

Five wines at the Wine Privé tasting

A wine tasting with a sommelier will take place at RAD restaurant on the 25th floor of Radisson RED. Participants will try five wines and learn how to taste them and pair them with food.

The price includes the tasting and its food accompaniment: oysters, scallop tartare, cheeses, a duck appetizer and veal cheeks. Any additional dinner and wine after the programme are charged separately. The announcement specifies cocktail dress and a 5% discount when buying two or more tickets.

The “Duyên sắc ba miền” exhibition

On Saturday, the Da Nang Fine Arts Museum will open an exhibition by 22 women artists from Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City. It will feature 45 works about nature, people, memories and contemporary life.

The exhibition marks Vietnamese Women’s Day, celebrated on October 20. You can attend the opening or choose another day: the works will remain at the museum until the end of the month.

Opening: Saturday, October 17, at 4:00 PM. The exhibition runs until October 31.
